I came to Suzhou for four days, and when choosing a hotel, I took "smooth transportation and comprehensive surroundings" as the first criterion. Finally, I settled on Wangfu Jinke Grand Hotel Suzhou. After staying here, I realized that it is simply the "golden hub" of Suzhou's western city. There is no need to wake up early to rush to attractions or take detours to find food, and most of the core gameplay in Suzhou is enclosed in the half-hour living circle.
The transportation convenience of the hotel is fully booked, so self driving enthusiasts don't have to worry at all. From Shanghai, take the Beijing Shanghai Expressway and turn two turns off the expressway to reach the hotel entrance. There is no traffic jam throughout the entire journey. The built-in super large free parking lot has ample space and is equipped with new energy charging stations. The security officer will actively guide you to park at the nearest location to the elevator, so you don't have to take a long way to drag your luggage and don't even have a chance to endure the wind and sun. Rushing the high-speed train is also very worry free. It takes only 20 minutes to drive directly to Suzhou Station, and it only takes 30 minutes to take the Central West Line to Suzhou North Station. There is no need to rush out two hours in advance to catch the early high-speed train. You can sleep in and then depart in time.
Public transportation is also barrier free, just an eight minute walk to Suzhou Amusement Park Station on Suzhou Metro Line 1, and a forty minute subway ride directly to Pingjiang Road and Guanqian Street, eliminating the need to squeeze into congested ground buses in the old city area. There is a bus stop just a few hundred meters away from the entrance, and multiple routes such as 322 and 357 cover all the scenic spots in the west of the city. If you want to go to Hanshan Temple and Shihu Scenic Area, you can take a bus directly without having to pay a high price for ride hailing services. If you want to experience the unique travel of Suzhou, there is a shared electric bike parking spot right outside the hotel. Riding along the greenway by the canal to the Shishan commercial district, enjoying the evening breeze of Jiangnan, is much more comfortable than taking a car.
The most amazing thing is the density of attractions around the hotel, almost all of which are within a short drive. Drive for ten minutes directly to Suzhou Amusement Park Forest World, no need to wake up early to rush to open the park. After sleeping enough, take a leisurely stroll and enjoy roller coasters and fairy tale towns during off peak hours without having to wait in long queues. It takes only fifteen minutes by car to reach Hanshan Temple and Fengqiao Scenic Area. In the morning, you can go to the ancient temple to listen to the bell, take a walk along the edge of Fengqiao, and feel the poetic meaning of "Jiang Feng Fishing Fire on Sorrowful Sleep". On the way down the mountain, you can go to Huqiu Mountain. After strolling through the Millennium Leaning Tower, you can also go to Shantang Street to eat snacks. The daily schedule is full, but you won't waste energy on the way.
If you don't want to run far, there are all good places within a fifteen minute walk around the hotel. Across the street is Shishan Longhu Tianjie, where you can find a variety of trendy restaurants and trendy shops with beautiful tea colors. After strolling the street at night, you can buy a osmanthus latte on your way back and enjoy fresh Su Bang cuisine without ordering takeout. Twenty minutes' walk south is the Shihu Scenic Area. In the evening, take a walk along the lake and enjoy the breeze. The lights of Fangshan gradually turn on, and you can easily take pictures of the Jiangnan atmosphere. If you want to taste authentic old Suzhou cuisine, you can take a taxi to Huaihai Street in just ten minutes. From Japanese cuisine to local sugar and water shops, these hidden delicacies in the alleys can be found without having to make a special guide. You can easily reach them with your foot up.
After staying for four days, we hardly wasted any time commuting. We didn't have to wake up early to rush to attractions, didn't have to take detours to find restaurants, and didn't even frequently turn on the navigation. Compared to those homestays hidden deep in the old city area and stuck in traffic when going out, hotels that fully utilize transportation and surrounding facilities are the most worry free choice for short distance travel.
